Pisano Research for Integrated Micromechanical & Electrical (PRIME) Systems Laboratory is directed by Dean Albert P. Pisano, the Walter J. Zable Chair in Engineering who serves on the faculty of the Departments of Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering at UC San Diego. PRIME Systems Lab is composed of researchers with various backgrounds and technical interests from Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering. This creates a multidisciplinary research environment enabling a broad research portfolio. The research projects in PRIME are focused on developing sensor technologies at the micro- and nano-scales with application to energy, medicine, and communication systems. The research projects are funded by various government and industrial agencies.
